Three In One

Ruci and I started our little restaurant adventure several months back; however, I had some health issues so it was put on hold for sometime.  Instead of writing three blogs I will write about the three restaurants we have been to so far.

Our adventure started at a place called Soul Gastrolounge.  If you like Sushi then this is the place for you.  Ruci had been there before but she did fail to tell me the majority of the food was sushi.  That's right I am not a big fan of it.  I know a lot of people are and that's awesome but just not for me.  They did have some cooked food and I thought I ordered cooked food.  lol  I ordered the Sashimi Tuna Tacos.  I figured I liked tuna and I liked tacos so it would be safe.  That would be a No!  It came with three small tacos.  They were very cute.  It wasn't until I was on my second taco that I realized the tuna wasn't cooked.  It actually wasn't bad but at that point it was a mind over matter situation so I couldn't finish it.  I also got a Red Velvet cupcake.  It was very good.   Ruci got grilled shrimp and a squid salad.  The grilled shrimp was awesome!  They also put a cucumber into your water.  That may be normal for a sushi place but it added an additional flavor to the water.

Not only was the food good but the view of Charlotte was great!  You have your choice of sitting outside or inside.  They also have a full bar.  The atmosphere alone was worth going there.

Our next stop was Enso Asian Bistro/Sushi Bar.  I think I am sensing a theme. Enso is located in Uptown Charlotte in the Epicentre.  This looked to be a very nice restaurant.  The experience as a whole great.  It reminded me of a restaurant I would see in a movie.  I got the Ginger Salad and the Pad Thai with Shrimp, as my main course.  It sweet as well as well as savory.  The cilantro made it.  I highly recommend this dish.  Ruci got the Chilean Sea Bass and it looked really good.  I would love to go back there again.

And last but not least is Angry Ale's.  Ruci and I have been on a hunt for Chicken Nachos.  There used to be this restaurant in Charlotte called Champs and they had the best Chicken Nachos and unfortunately they closed so we have been searching high and low for a place that could match Champs.  I think we have found a close second to Champs.

Angry Ale's is a Pub and Grill Sports Bar.  Even though I am not into sports this was still a great environment.  It is a place where you can get together with your friends and have some great food, great drinks, watch the game and have a great time.

We sat outside since it was such a nice day.  We decided to order just appetizers.  You can't go wrong there.  However, the menu ranged from appetizers, to sliders, to burgers to salads and sandwiches.  They even have an Elvis Burger with fried bananas and peanut butter on it.  How awesome is that?  We ended up ordering of course the Chicken Nachos, the Chicken Quesadilla and the fried pickles.  Ruci also got a Caesar salad that looked really good.  Needless to say we needed to run a marathon after eating all that food.

The food was great and it reminded me of a place you might see on Triple D.   This is a place I would definitely try again.

Thank you for taking time to read my blog.  Until next time Bon Appetit!

The Purpose

I have for sometime wanted to try different restaurants around town.  When friends and I go out, it is usually to the same old places.  Not that those places are not good but no one likes getting into a restaurant rut.

My friend Ruci and I were talking one day about how cool it would be to try different restaurants in Charlotte (and surrounding towns).  And then I thought how cool would it be to write about it as well.  I will admit I kind of got the idea to try the different eateries from Diners Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri on Food Network.  I think that would be an awesome job.  In our restaurant travels, I do hope to find some little hole in the wall restaurants.  I think a lot times those are better than the restaurant chains.  No restaurant is off limits if we find a good one.

If I end up with any readers please feel free recommend any great restaurants in the Charlotte area.  Even coffee shops would be great too!  I am really excited about this new adventure.  And once I figure out how to post pictures I will.  I am a little new to the blogging world so please bare with me.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy.
